Birmingham Nuffield becomes the Edgbaston Hospital

5th October 2008
Beginning this September, it will now be called BMI The Edgbaston Hospital.

Since being acquired earlier this year by the UK's largest healthcare provider, BMI Healthcare, the hospital (formerly known as the Birmingham Nuffield) used the temporary name of BMI Birmingham. After close consultation with patients, GPs, consultants and staff following the acquisition, it was agreed that the hospital should adopt the new BMI The Edgbaston Hospital name, which many felt better represented the personal, community-based approach of the hospital.
